Course Duration: The Doctor of Dental Medicine program typically spans a duration of Six years. This includes a combination of classroom-based learning, laboratory sessions, and clinical rotations.
Curriculum: Students cover a wide range of subjects, including Dental Anatomy, Oral Pathology, Dental Materials, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Pedodontics, and Orthodontics.
Experience: Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience under the guidance of experienced dental professionals.

- For local students
- Academic Prerequisites a high school or equivalent qualification for international students is required for admission to the dental medicine Program. Students must have completed high school with a strong foundation in science subjects, including biology, chemistry, and physics. Students with additional coursework in mathematics, statistics, and humanities may have an advantage in the selection process.
- Passing mark at the Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Qualifying Examination (EHEEQE) as determined by the Ministry of Education (currently >50% i.e. >350/700) from Natural Science Stream OR,
- Holds BSc degree in a health science field and graduated with a CGPA of 2.75 for female and 3.0 for male.
- Considering the extensive practical attachment of the program student with major disabilities (vision, mobility and hearing related problems or those who cannot effectively use their hands) shall not be admitted to the program.
- Can produce Certificate of Medical Fitness.
- Can produce Certificate of Mental Fitness
- Screening interview with the Department of dental Medicine Council.
- For international students
- Academic Prerequisites: A high school or equivalent qualification for international students is required for admission to the college Program.
- Students must have completed high school with a strong foundation in science subjects, including biology, chemistry, and physics.
- Students with additional coursework in mathematics, statistics, and humanities may have an advantage in the selection process.
- Holds BSc degree in a health science field and graduated with a CGPA of 2.75 for female and 3.0 for male out of 4.00 points.
- Has the passion and determination to study and practice medicine
- In addition to the above requirements any foreign qualifications admission is granted only if they provide equivalence from FDRE Education and Training Authority.
- In order to get letter of equivalence applicants should follow bellow procedure.
- Registration Procedure
- Begin by paying the amount of service fee to the commercial bank of Ethiopia account number 1000004550165 based on the table and keep the receipt.
- Start logging into the https://neta.gov.et/requestverification
- Click on “I am eligible and have all the required information” click next.
- Enter bank transaction reference number.
- Upload the bank transaction receipt.
- Fill basic information of yours and click next.
- Fill educational information and click next.
- Upload all your relevant academic credentials as per the system request and click next.
- Review and submit.

General Dentistry Practice: Students can establish their own general dentistry practice, providing comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages.
Specialization: Graduates can opt to specialize in specific areas of dentistry, such as orthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, periodontics, paediatric dentistry, or prosthodontics. These specialized fields require additional education, training, and certification.
Research and Academia: Dentistry graduates with a passion for research and academia can pursue careers in dental research institutions or academic settings.
Public Health: Graduates can work in public health organizations, governmental agencies, or non-profit entities.
Corporate Dentistry: Some dentistry graduates choose to work in corporate dental organizations, where they can provide dental services within a structured corporate setting.
